Patron Saint of Astronomers: Saint Dominic de Guzman

Saint Dominic de Guzman - founder of the Dominican order of friars - didn't become the patron saint of astronomers and astronomy because of any scientific leanings of his own. Instead, at his baptism the Blessed Joan saw a star shining from his chest, which associated him with heavenly bodies thereafter.
